How it started

I`m riding bikes my whole life. I started as a kid and we were messing around with stunts. I enjoyed it a lot. At that time there were no smart phones, tablets and not many of us were having PC. Because of that and our love to bikes we`re spending a lot of time playing outside. And my favorite game was bicycle. There wasn`t a lot of money so all the tuning that we did we did by our own or with help of some good people as my neighbor who was welder.

When I first saw biketrials I fall in love with it. I was amazed about what You can do with bike that has no seat, loud brakes, soft tires and wide handlebars. With help of my good neighbor we welded my first steel biketrials bike and I was in the 7th skies.

I started to train everyday, I was training all the time and hard work paid off, when I entered the competition I was good, in the first year I took 1st place in “expert” group and was a champion for three years. I participated in a lot of competitions all around the world including European championships where I took 3rd place in “expert” group. Things were getting harder when I moved up to “elite” group. It was very hard to compete in such a high level with guys, who, at that time, were riding for a long years compared to me. But I was dedicated to my goal and it was to be Latvian “elite” champion. Unfortunately I didn`t get to my goal, all the time I was in 2nd and 3rd place, but never took the gold. As I was training hard everyday and not taking the right care of my health, my back started to give in. And I decided to quit biketrials and move to something different. After few years I realised that that was one of the biggest mistakes I`we done in my life.

I built MTB freestyle bike and started to ride in skateparks, trails and street. It was enjoyable because there were no competition in me at that point. At the beginning I was beginner, and I mean beginner. I thought that this will be easy but it wasn`t. I had an issues with speed and air because it was different from I was used to. To do something You need speed and air unlike to biketrials where everything happens literally standing on the place. I didn`t give up and said goodbye to fear and started to fly on the quarterpipes, boxes and spines. I entered competitions after a year of riding and took some 2nd and 3rd places. Participated in some European competitions but not with as good result as in biketrials.

While I was enjoying extreme bike riding I tried mostly everything – BMX, MTB freestyle, downhill, XC etc. And enjoyed everything because I loved bikes and I still love them

When I started biketrials I was dreaming – when I grow up, I will built my own frames. Now when I`m grown up I finally can do it. Style has changed a lot and I`m not willing to ride extreme anymore, I`m enjoying cruising around with my friends and family.

Luckily for me my profession fully supports frame building, I`m ex professional TIG welder and now I`m manufacturing and project manager in metalworking workshop. Together with my team that includes welders, fitters and craftsmen we can produce high quality products!

I hope that You will enjoy Raze as much as I do and see You on the streets!
